Large files should be always splitted before they are transmitted over internet. The continuity of the internet connection cannot be always guaranteed .If some error happens in between an upload or download ,the whole process has to be restarted again . File sharing sites like Rapidshare ,MegaUpload also implies a limit on the size of the files are uploaded .
In internet mostly we usually we use RAR or ZIP to split files and join them later at user end .Applications like Ashampoo Winoptimizer and TuneUp utilities that we discussed also offer file splitter modules of their own . The difficulty is that all these applications are sharewares . HJsplit on the other side is a freeware multi-platform file splitter and joiner . It can split files of any size to a pre-defined value and later join them at the client side .
