Today, my teacher asked me that "Can you use Remote Desktop (MSTSC) via DOS with specific configuration?"
At this time i realize that i must know How to use MSTSC via DOS? n also With Specific Configuration, like : specific console etc....
N now i can do it...
N i post it here so IF YOUR TEACHER ASK TO YOU ABOUT THAT THAN YOU CAN SAY 'YES SIR, I CAN.'
So lets begin....
First of all WHAT IS MSTSC (Remote Desktop)?
Remote Desktop Connection is a technology that allows you to sit at a computer (sometimes called the client computer) and connect to a remote computer (sometimes called the host computer) in a different location. For example, you can connect to your work computer from your home computer and have access to all of your programs, files, and network resources as though you were in front of your computer at work. You can leave programs running at work and then, when you get home, you can see your work computer's desktop displayed on your home computer, with the same programs running.
MSTSC Creates connections to terminal servers or other remote computers, edits an existing Remote Desktop Connection (.rdp) configuration file, and migrates Windows XP connections (connections created with Client Connection Manager) to new .rdp files.
Syntax
1) mstsc.exe {ConnectionFile|/v:server} [/console] [/f] [/w:width /h:height]
2) mstsc.exe /edit"ConnectionFile"
Parameters
ConnectionFile : Specifies the name of an .rdp file for the connection.
/v:server : Specifies the remote computer to which you want to connect.
/console : Connects to the console session of the specified Windows 2000 Server.
/f : Starts Remote Desktop connection in full-screen mode.
/w:width /h:height : Specifies the dimensions of the Remote Desktop screen.
/edit : Opens the specified .rdp file for editing.
/migrate : Migrates legacy connection files that were created with Client Connection Manager to new .rdp connection files.
• | You must be an administrator on the server to which you are connecting to create a remote console connection. |
• | .rdp files are stored for each user as hidden files in My Documents. |
