Hello Guys, did you want to run LINUX/UNIX Commands on Windows Platform?
Here is a GREAT TOOL for you, that can run maximum Shell commands of Linux/Unix in Windows.
So, check it ....
Name of this tools is CoreUtils. A project of Sourceforge.
Steps to use this Software:
1) First of all you must DOWNLOAD it.
2) Install it...
3) Open Command Prompt (CMD) and change dir location to this softwares "bin" directory.
After Changing the directory location on dos, you can use Shell commands.
But if you want to use Shell Commands as our regular dos commands, then you must add the "bin" directory to System Variable List.
So, when you fire a command than DOS automaticall detects their location and execute it.
Way of adding CoreUtils "bin" directory to System Variables List :-
1) Open My Computer Properties/System Properties by RIGHT CLICKING on MYCOMPUTER ICON and than SELECT, PROPERTIES,
OR
Press Windows Key + Pause Break
2) Now Click On "Environment Variables"
3) Select "Path" Under the System variables box
After selecting, click on Edit.
4) Here is a Input Box, named "Variable Value"
Here you must define the Location of "bin" directory of our software, so that Command Prompt can directly execute Linux/Unix Commands.
So, define the PATH: "D:\Program Files\GnuWin32\bin".
(I install this software on D: drive, you can change it according to your installation.)
Now, all things are done, click on OK, OK, OK, OK.....
Restart your PC/Laptop and open Command Prompt.
Execute Linux/Unix Commands.....
Tk care n bye....
